KSND is a boutique sound studio that has been actively involved in the music world since 2000. We specialize in mastering cinematic types of music, such as ambient, drone, experimental, electroacoustic, electronic, dark, indie, acoustic, trip-hop, chillout, dream pop, and jazz.

Depending on the genre, we offer two options for mastering: pure digital mastering or a hybrid solution. With the hybrid approach, we process the tracks through analog gear before finalizing them on the computer.

In addition to mastering, we provide various sound and audio services, including mixing, post-production, and score composition for films, advertisements, video games, and web content.

Mastering involves several important processes such as EQ, level adjustment, compression, limiting, and more. It is crucial to understand the significance of mastering, as this final stage can either enhance a good mix or potentially ruin it if handled by inexperienced individuals. Conversely, achieving exceptional mastering results from a poorly mixed track is incredibly challenging. The mixing stage plays a pivotal role in facilitating a great mastering outcome, so we urge you to consider the following tips before seeking our services.

1. Start with a clear idea and create an imaginary room reverb space to position your track.
2. Strive for a well-balanced mix and avoid excessive compression. Normalizing is entirely unnecessary, as it brings you closer to clipping the track.
3. Enhancing frequencies is important, but sometimes removing frequencies can yield better results.
4. Ensure your mix translates well not only on high-quality speakers but also on more affordable ones.
5. Compare your mix with songs by your favorite artists to gain perspective.
6. Leave approximately -6dB of headroom in your mixdown.
